Ever had a houseguest that outstayed their welcome?
You were happy to see them at first, but their stay got on your nerves the longer it lasted.
Something very similar is happening with ads nowadays:
They’re a welcome guest at first. People are liking, sharing, and buying from them.
But before we realize, our audience gets pissed off and kicks them out of their phones.
This happens way quicker than we’d expect. And it’s one of the reasons why you should never rest on laurels as a business owner.
How To Keep Your Ads Welcome
So right now you’re extremely pissed off… Imagine your siblings spending two months in your apartment.
After week two, space is starting to become an issue. Their habits start affecting your routine. You can’t even have sex privately with your partner!
However, if they changed things up.
Say, by washing the dishes, cleaning your house, and spending more time outside. It may be just the variation you need to let them stay for a bit longer.
This is exactly how we would fight ad fatigue.
How To Keep Your Prospect Intrigued
Ad fatigue is a constant battle. There’s no permanent cure.
The solution is to make a change. Keep refreshing our stuff.
So if you’re running 1 ad now? It’s time to do at least 3 different ones.
If you have 1 video for them to see in your retargeting campaign? It’s time to do 5-10 other ones.
Always give them new variations, and never interrupt their sex…Regardless.
